We have a number of volunteer opportunities available. If you would like to join the Maker Faire Production Crew and be a part of this year’s event then consider the available roles presented here.
Most roles are only for the two days of Calgary Mini Maker Faire, September 12 & 13, however we may also have some room on our organizing team if you have specialized skills that may apply.
All volunteers will receive a Maker Faire t-shirt, snacks and refreshments provided while volunteering and a pass for you and a guest to attend the exclusive Maker Meetup & Media Event happening on the Thursday evening before Maker Faire.
Volunteer Roles Available
Set-up and Tear Down – This role involves setting up tables, chairs, and decorations on Thursday September 10th and then take down and clean-up on Sunday 13th.
Greeter – This role involves greeting visitors as they arrive, offering program guides, and providing suggestions of cool things to see.
Lecture Hall Attendant – This role involves greeting and ushering guests attending speaking sessions happening throughout both event day. Also required is checking isles after each speaking session for items left behind, and removing any garbage found.
Maker Check-in Attendant – This role involves greeting Makers as they arrive to setup and providing each their passes and information package.
Maker Care Team – This is perhaps on of the most fun volunteer roles as it involves visiting each booth to see if the exhibitors need anything. It’s easy, but does require being on your feet for most of the day. Convince a friend to volunteer with you to make the day go twice as fast.
If any of the following roles sound interesting just ask and we’ll provide a bit more detail.
