Calgary recognized as the first Mini Maker Faire to showcase at Bay Area
Calgary & makers went all out at Maker Faire in Bay 2014!
First, Shannon Hoover co-founder and producer of CMF was recognized as a leader in the Calgary maker movement and was invited to speak at MakerCon, which happens a few days before Maker Faire, he spoke about Calgary as a maker city, and then also at a panel including several international makers. The Calgary Maker Space crew was there too!
Then, it was time for Maker Faire. A group of 15 makers including organizers of Calgary Mini Maker Faire took 7 projects down to the biggest and greatest show & tell on earth:

Catherine Hazin, Chelsea Klukas, MariaElena Hoover – Make Fashion Wearable technology fashion
Out of the makers projects on display 3 were recognized by the organizers of Maker Faire:
– David Bynoe received an editors choice recognition
– Jeff DeBoer received two editors choice recognitions
– Shannon Chappell received two editors choice and two best in class recognitions!
